The Southern Cross Motorcycle Club is famous for holding its annual Cliffs King of the Cross. 

The event takes place on the first weekend of August at the Richie Kings Memorial Park, Southern Cross South Road, Southern Cross. On Saturday the track is full of junior riders for the Kid of the Cross where children ages four to 16 years riding on 50cc to 250cc motorbikes can compete for the title of Kid of the Cross.

 

Sunday's racing includes quads, veterens, womens races as well as several classes for clubmans, lites and pros. The track then comes alive for the Cliffs King of the Cross. Riders from all over Australia come to Southern Cross to compete in this grand event. Other racing titles to be won are the Prince of the Cross and the ladies Queen of the Cross. Full camping, canteen and bar facilities are available throughout the weekend.

How to get there:

  • Turn off the Great Eastern Highway onto the South Yilgarn Road (Sign on Highway for Cliffs King of the Cross as well as Rubbish Tip.)

  • Continue on the road until you get to the big SXMCC tyre and turn left.
